Top 5 Questions I Get Asked

I've hopped on 300+ coaching calls with new copywriters.

Here are the TOP FIVE questions I get asked about becoming a $100,000+ copywriter (and my answers)...

Coming from someone who's earned over $600,000 profit as a copywriter:

#1 How do I get started?

Start every day by waking up and writing for 30-60 minutes straight.

Buy all the copywriting books. Get the courses and coaching.

Specialize in one type of writing. Pick a niche.

Do at least 60-90 minutes of writing every day. Don't skip a day.

#2 How do I pick a niche?

Look at the topics you're most interested in first.

What do you love learning? What can you not stop talking about?

And, what do people see YOU as the expert in?

Combine passion + expertise + market demand and there's your ideal niche.

#3 What type of writing should I do?

So many options: ads, tweets, emails, blogs, landing pages, web copy, ebooks, scripts, etc.

Experiment. Start writing different types.

I started with blog posts. Later, I learned email.

Master one and lead with that when you pitch.

#4 What's the fastest way to land a client?

It won't be on Twitter or Instagram.

The fastest way you'll ever land a paid client is by pitching your OFFLINE network.

Go to your:

  • Friends

  • Family

  • Co-workers

The trust you've built with them will make up for your lack of experience.

#5 What's the fastest way to scale to full-time?

Proof.

Your number ONE goal as a new copywriter shouldn't be to land a high-ticket client.

It should be to do whatever it takes to build case studies (even working for free).

Good case studies will get you JUICY clients and $5-10k/mo.
