Life is short.

Last night, I was scrolling Twitter.

Should’ve been sleeping, but, believe it or not, I succumb to doomscrolling just like anyone else.

And then I saw the tweet:

Ben Bader passed away.

“No way. This has to be a joke.”

I scroll a bit more. Another tweet confirmed. Another tweet confirmed.

It’s real.

If you don’t know who Ben is, he’s one of the top copywriters (and growth operators) in the info space.

I don’t know him personally, but he’s a great copywriter, and brilliant businessman. Makes $100k+/month.

So this news really shook me.

I literally just read his latest email two days ago.

I saw him on YouTube not too long ago.

Posted “I’m back” on IG... yesterday.

And now, he’s gone. Just like that.

He made an incredible impact on the internet marketing world and info space in particular. May his soul rest in peace. Pray for his family and close friends.

As I lay there in bed, taking in the tragic news, it just hit me:

Life is short.

We don’t have much time.

And we really never know when our last moment will be.

When the clock strikes, it’s over.

Side note - in case you didn’t hear, I came down with a crazy eye infection 3 days ago. I’m recovering now. But for 2 days, my eye was swollen (like literally my eyeball — I know, gross). And I was honestly really scared. Several times I travelled mentally to worst case scenarios - doctors telling me I have to get my eye surgically removed or how it’s a deeper infection that’s fatal. Seeing the look in my wife and daughters eyes as I tell them the news and say goodbye to them. The eye infection was as painful mentally as it was physically.

So there I was, laying in my bed. And the combination of feeling very mortal these past few days, and hearing this heartbreaking news about a prominent internet marketer…

It did something. It shook me. And it stirred up a new fire inside of me.

I don’t know how long I have here on this earth. But I certainly don’t want to waste my days. I don’t want to take them for granted. And I want to dedicate my life to serving God and the people He’s placed in front of me.

It got me thinking back to the pre-copywriting days.

When I was grinding away endlessly at dead-end job after dead-end job. Working tirelessly building someone else’s kingdom. Meanwhile delaying my calling. Limiting my potential.

And worst of all, knowing I’m not giving my wife and my future children all that I could give.

My 9 to 5 was holding me back not just from giving them the financial provision they deserved from me. But also my time and my ability to be present with them.

To not have the looming shadow of Monday morning hanging over me all weekend long.

But to be there for them. And have the financial stability to not have to work 12+ hour days at my job.

To have the time freedom to take a random Wednesday off if my daughter was sick.

To have the peace of being able to be present with them without work bombarding my thoughts.

That’s the kind of life that I want to live. To give to my family. And to my community.

Maybe you feel the same. Maybe you don’t want to stay at that job that’s keeping you trapped in the rat race.

Maybe you want to be able to take a weekend off. Or a random Tuesday afternoon off. Or a random month off just to take an extended vacation with your family.

Maybe you want to make more money so you can give generously to those around you and leave an impact.

Maybe you want to stop living life on repeat, going through the motions, and limiting your potential.

Whatever it may be, it’s up to you to make that choice.

If you’re ready to go all in, then there’s no greater opportunity right now than to dive into copywriting. With the industry estimated to grow to $42.2 billion by 2030, there’s endless demand for businesses looking to grow who are in need of a copywriter.
