Is "SOS" Holding You Back?

Kill it before it's too late

Did you see this Alex Hormozi Tweet the other day?

It was one of the wisest digital slaps I’ve seen online in some time.

Most people don’t need a crystal ball or some brand new tactic to find success with online business in 2025.

The same thing was true back when I first started my journey years ago as it is today:

If you want to win, just pick one and don’t quit till you win.

I know this to be true because shiny object syndrome (SOS) had me paralyzed for years:

  • I quit sales after 3 months

  • I quit ecom after 2 months

  • I quit coding after 1 month

If there was one thing I was great at between 2015 and 2019…

It was starting stuff and quitting stuff.

And the thing is, while I think copywriting beats all 3 as an online business model to choose… those business models aren’t terrible. They work.

I failed at all 3 not because the model sucked, but because of shiny object syndrome.

In 2019, I ventured into another online business after years of starting and quitting:

Copywriting.

But…

It wasn't until I was consistent with copywriting for 7 months that I found success (when I hit my first $5,000 month).

But the main difference in why I finally hit $5,000, $10,000, and as high as $15,850 in one month wasn’t because copywriting was a 10x better choice than the other models.

It was because I just became stubborn.

So stubborn that nothing could distract me anymore.

No business model could take me away from my goal.

I became disciplined. Fanatic. Single-minded.

You see…

Succeeding in online business…

Building a laptop lifestyle…

Making more money than you’ve ever had.

More free time than you’ve ever dreamed of.

And more freedom than 99% of the world…

It’s not impossible to achieve (as much as it may seem like it sometimes).

For most people, all it truly takes is 12 months of obsession.

For some people, 6 months.

In the grand scheme of things…

If you’re to live to be 80 years old.

What is 1 year of “sacrifice” out of 80?

What’s a single year in your life when you have 79 others waiting for you?

I can tell you this much…

Those 4 years (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) that I spent “kind of” diving into business… but still not truly going all in…

They were 10x more painful than the year I finally decided to win (2019).

Looking back, those years were a waste.

I would rather you commit 100% to your business and to a new life…

Then go half in.

In fact, if you’re not looking at copywriting as a business…

And you’re only looking at it as a side hustle (so you can make a few extra hundred dollars per month) you can unsubscribe right now from my email list.

I’d rather you just live a normal “comfortable” life, get a degree, work a 9 to 5 for 40 years, get your 3% raise and 2 weeks vacation each year from your cozy office building.

But don’t call yourself a copywriter.

And don’t tell people you have an online business.

Time spent going “half in” on an online business is time wasted.

A lukewarm effort will never work, no matter the business model.

So, my advice for you?

If you truly want to get that freedom you’re looking for…

The freedom that’s allowed me to make over $570,000 as a copywriter…

That’s allowed me to retire my wife, and fully provide for my family of 4…

That’s allowed me to wake up and work whenever I want…

And travel the world, live anywhere, and vacation (without having to ask a boss first)…

To finally call the shots in my life…

If that’s what you want, then commit right now to ONE business model and go all in for the next 12 months.

I don’t even care if it’s copywriting or dropshipping or trading (although you’ll have the easiest time with copy).

Just pick one and commit.

Don’t look to the left. Don’t look to the right. Don’t take your friends and family members’ opinions on what you’re doing with your life to heart.

They’ll never understand anyways (until you succeed). Trust me, I’ve lived it. They don’t ask questions anymore other than how I was able to make it happen.

12 months is going to go by whether you choose to build the life of your dreams or not.

And before you know it, it’ll be March 2026. You’ll be one year older.

The question is, are you going to look back on a year that you spent going half in, without any progress, any results (and you’re now one year closer to 80?)…

Or are you going to look back on a year where you finally said yes to your dream life… and are finally living life on your terms and calling the shots?

1 year.

12 months.

365 days.

That’s all it takes.

It’s up to you.
