"i think Ai kil this skill"
Is he right?
Woke up to a YouTube comment I see over and over again,
"i think Ai kil this skill"
Okay, maybe I’ve never seen this specific comment with this unique spelling before…
But I get these kinds of questions and comments all the time:
“Won’t AI replace copywriters?”
“Isn’t AI going to take over?”
“Should I be concerned with AI taking my job as a copywriter?”
My short answer?
Yes.
Artificial intelligence is coming for your job
It’s taking over copywriting.
And it’s unstoppable.
But, here’s the catch…
AI is only something you should fear if you suck at writing copy.
I’m happy AI is here.
It’s making everyone’s live’s easier.
Automating tasks.
Speeding up dozens of work functions.
Giving complex answers to complex questions.
And it’s making business communication easier than ever.
So who should fear the AI takeover?
Anyone who isn’t spending time building up their copywriting skill.
You see, the problem was never AI.
10 years ago, the guys who spent 5 minutes per day writing and studying copy were just as much at risk of losing their job…
But not because of AI.
Because they treat copywriting like a “side hustle” rather than a real business.
It’s always interesting hearing people’s arguments against AI.
But people don’t realize that AI isn’t a copywriter.
AI is a tool.
It’s leverage.
The “AI takeover” in 2025 is just like the birth of the internet in the 90s
Before the internet, copywriters spent their days writing copy for billboards, commercials, magazines, pamphlets, flyers, newspapers, radio ads, and all the traditional media.
After the internet, a new wave of copy was born: website copy, email copy, digital advertising, social media, and more.
Copywriters who embraced the internet learned how to scale their skills. Instead of reaching 10,000 people with a small, local newspaper ad, copywriters could reach millions with a single website landing page.
Traditional copywriters like Don Draper never ceased to exist. They just kept writing copy the way they had done for years, and still make money to this day.
The ones who started to ALSO build “internet skills” just learned how to get more done in less time and reach more people with the same effort.
The internet didn’t kill copywriters. It just made their jobs easier. More tasks were automated. More leverage was introduced.
Today, we're at a similar crossroads.
AI is here.
And just like the Dot Com boom had end times fearmongerers…
The AI boom also has end times fearmongerers…
They’re preaching that this is the beginning of the end — not just for not just copywriters — but everyone!
You know what?
It’s a load of baloney.
I’m not saying AI won’t eliminate jobs in various industries.
AI is going to wipe out a lot of low level skill work.
AI is going to automate a bunch of copywriter tasks.
AI is going to change the way businesses operate.
But, there’s one thing I’m CERTAIN of in terms of a marketable, long-lasting skill that will stand the test of time…
SALES.
It never dies.
The skill of SELLING will never go out of style.
And as long as there are businesses on earth that want to make more money, generate leads, increase revenue, and grow profits…
Sales will always be a skill that you can learn, leverage, and offer…
To make a ton of money.
And copywriting — It is SALES — just in the written form
When you understand this - the fact that marketing and sales are the highest leverage skills in any business —- it doesn’t matter what kind of shifts take place with technology, AI, social platforms, the internet, or the economy.
When you know how to sell, you will always know how to earn.
Your role may pivot over time. You may have to adapt to new technologies. You may have to change the way you sell or write or market.
But, learning the SKILLS of copywriting, sales, and marketing…
Those 3 core skills ensure no matter how technology shifts, you will always have a marketable skill, a way to add value to business, and a way to make a LOT of money right from your laptop.
So, keep learning copy.
Keep writing.
And sure, go get familiar with AI.
You know what I’ve noticed with naysayers who constantly chant things like "i think Ai kil this skill"…?
They’re typically the kind of people who always want to talk, always want to come up with an excuse as to why something might not work for them…
Always delaying, always putting off their dreams, always hoping and wishing…
But NEVER taking action.
Never going after their dreams.
Never putting in the work.
And never hitting that $10,000/month mark.
But the people who hit that $1,000, $5,000, $10,000, and beyond?
They know how to make fast decisions and take even faster action.
If that’s you, and you’re ready to capitalize on a skill that can never go out of style…
But, you’re not sure exactly how to get to that $5,000-$10,000/month you’re after…
