I made $1095 in 4 hours with AI

Back in 2019…

I was a newbie copywriter.

On February 17, I made $15 from my first-ever client.

It was for a “future of trades in Canada” blog post.

Not exactly riveting stuff, but I was stoked to get client #1..

I landed the guy on Fiverr (just 1.5 months after beginning my copywriting journey).

And I looked at the brief, wrote the draft, and handed it in.

“Five stars” and a testimonial later, and my $10k/month journey had begun.

Guess how long it took me to make that $15?

4 hours.

About 3 hours of writing and 1 hour of editing.

That’s an effective rate of $15 / 4 hours….

= $3.75 an hour.

Less than minimum wage.

Fast-forward to July 2019.

I was making $100 blog post.

$100 / 4 hours…

=$25/hour.

Finally! I beat minimum wage.

Fast-forward once again to 2024.

Making about $400/blog post.

$400 / 4 hours…

=$100/hour.

Nice. Making some solid spending money by lunch time.

Now, we arrive at the present date:

October, 2025.

Except something’s different.

AI is here.

Guess what happened?

A) My client fired me and said “we’ll just let AI do it” and now I’m homeless

B) AI eliminated all copywriters

C) ) AI turned into the terminator / iRobot and actually eliminated copywriters (and everyone else for that matter)

D) AI helped me make $1,095 in 4 hours

If you picked A, B, or C, then I am sad.

But, I am sad and wealthy…

Because the correct answer is D.

This past week, I wrote two longer form blog posts for one of my copywriting clients in the marketing software space.

When I first started, it would have taken me 4 hours to write a single post for $15.

Last year, in 2024, it would have taken me 4 hours to write a single post for $400

Last week, it took me 4 hours to write two posts… and I made $1,095.

$1,095 / 4…

= $273.75/hour

Now we’re talking.

Before lunch time, I made enough money with copywriting to book a roundtrip flight to Rome.

How is this possible?

AI.

You see, while most beginners are living in fear of AI wiping them out (before they even start)…
