How Chase Got 2 Clients in 30 Days

Without a portfolio, mass cold DMs or aggressive sales calls

There I was, in dreamland

Cozy under my blanket like a hot dog in a steamed brioche bun.

The cool morning wind from my bedroom window gently reaches my brow.

My eyes reluctantly creep open to meet the sun staring right back at me.

Another day to be grateful to God to be alive.

I roll out of my bed, put on a smoky dark roast French press, grab my Bible and do my thing.

Then I open up my Twitter DMs…

My eyes go wide.

He did it!

I received the best DM ever.

It was from a 1:1 coaching student of mine.

It was our fourth week working together.

Here’s what he said:

I had taken a new copywriter under my wing: Chase DiMonda.

He had been learning copy for a few months but was struggling to land that first client.

He couldn’t figure out how to bridge the gap between his skillset and the money those skills are worth

Every new copywriter goes through this.

You spend weeks (if not months) learning.

Chase didn’t have a portfolio. He didn’t have some crafty “offer” in place like guaranteed results in x days or your money back.

He didn’t have to post content nonstop, engage like a crazy person on social media, and grind to build up his “personal brand.”

This is crucial because as a new copywriter, business owners don’t want to waste their money (or their time) on some newbie copywriter.

Even if you’re a good copywriter…

Or they just need more followers and to start posting content (WRONG).

…And then, they’ll get paid.

Nope.

You don’t need an audience.

You need to know how to show PROOF that you are the person for the job.

That’s the main thing that Chase and I worked on.

And that's when he landed not one… but two paid clients.
