Cold email and cold DMs suck

Do this instead (to land clients fast)

Imagine you’re at home.

Someone knocks on your front door.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

You open the door cautiously.

And the first thing this mystery person says is…

“Hey bro, if I could 2-3x your revenue with email, would you be interested?”

What would you say?

“Uhhhhhh… Who are you?”

“Ummm… no?!”

“Are you scamming me?”

To take it up a notch, you don’t even have a business. You work a 9 to 5.

“Revenue? What? Who are you talking to? And about what?”

“Huh???”

You don’t even know what to reply.

So you don’t reply. You just close the door.

So, being the go-getter he is, he comes back a few days later ready to follow up and close you.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

But…

You don’t open the door this time.

You can see through the peephole in your door.

“Ahh it’s that same guy again.”

And you can hear him banging your door and shouting through the door…

“Hey bro, just wanted to follow up, you interested in email or naw??”

So you call security to have him removed… and he never shows up again.

You know what this is?

Unfortunately… it’s modern outreach. :/

But, fortunately… it’s 99% of your competition. :)

This is how people are trying to land clients today with cold emails and cold DMs:

  1. Approaching the wrong prospects

  2. Pitching without establishing any rapport

  3. Offering no form of proof, trust, or credibility

  4. And providing absolutely zero value up front

And people are sick and tired of it!

And you know what, if you’ve tried this, or were taught this, I don’t blame you one bit.

There’s gurus out there all over the place teaching things they don’t understand or have ever done themselves (or things that worked 5 years ago but don’t work today).

They don’t care if these strategies are effective or not. They just have to teach SOMETHING so they get paid via courses, coaching, etc.

So, what’s the alternative?

Here’s scenario number two.

You own a retail business. A shoe store - specifically for runners and athletes.

A stranger walks in one day and compliments your selection of sneakers / trainers.

They introduce themselves and go on to talk about their 5 years of running and their ups and downs. They say “Thanks,” and walk out 2 minutes later.

The next day, that same stranger walks in the front door of your shop.

They say “Hi,” and greet you by name. You greet them by name since you met them yesterday.

Then they go on to explain how they checked out your website and found a ton of improvements you could make to improve your retail sales (and that they’re a copywriter):

“Your website is a bit hard to read as the text is too small - it’ll be easier for people if the text is a bit bigger.”

“I couldn’t find your address on your home page, so if people are interested in your products, they won’t know how to find you, you should add that in.”

“Your About Page should have a photo of you and tell a bit of your story. Also it’s a big wall of text so it’ll be easier to read if you add some more white space in.”

And the stranger shares 2-3 other tips about the copy and marketing.

Then you respond and say, “Thank you, wow, I appreciate it.”

And the guy gives you his card and says, “If you’d like some more help, let me know. I help other businesses in the area, including x, y, and z. I took their revenue from $x to $y.”

Okay.

See how this is a completely different scenario?

What’s the main difference?

Well, let’s look at those 4 points I mentioned earlier.

  1. Approaching the wrong prospects

  2. Pitching without establishing any rapport

  3. Offering no form of proof, trust, or credibility

  4. And providing absolutely zero value up front

In scenario two…

1. The guy approached the right prospect (an established business owner).

2. He established rapport first by complimenting the owner on the store selection and explained how he’s a runner too.

3. He showed proof and credibility that he knows what he’s doing by sharing the results he got with other local businesses in the area. And built trust by introducing himself, his name, and what he does.

4. And then he provided a ton of upfront free value by giving the prospect tips on the business that are actually helpful, further solidifying trust and credibility since he had to check out the website and take the time to do it.

Now, if you had to pick the outreach from scenario one or scenario two…

Which one do you think will land you more clients?

If you said scenario two, you’re right.

That’s the difference between sending low value, robotic, non-personalized AI outreaches…

(That make people want to poke their eyeballs out…)

And sending an outreach that’s personalized, professional, valuable, and memorable.

(And most importantly, actually gets you $1,000-$5,000+ clients fast.)

The second form of outreach is what I call a “Sniper Bomb.”

It’s the framework that took my copywriting business from zero to $9,000/month within 12 months

And $10,000-$15,000 months since.

It’s helped me travel the world, retire my wife, and spend more time with my two little girls.

It’s also the same system that’s helped ~70% of my copywriting students land their first paid client within 30 days…

Without sending any cold emails or DMs, hopping on zero aggressive sales calls, and without any prior client-getting experience.

The best part?

They’re getting their first client by sending just ONE outreach per day.

Like Effie who got her first client on her first-ever Sniper Bomb.

Or Carlos who landed a $2M/year fitness coach in his first 30 days.

Or Chase who got 2 clients in 30 days… and quit his job 3 months later.

Simply put…

It works.

And it works fast.

  • If you want to stop spinning your wheels.

  • If you want to stop struggling as a new copywriter.

  • If you want to actually get prospects’ attention.

And if you want to land your first paid client even faster…

So you can make $5,000, $10,000, or more from your laptop in the next 6-12 months…

Then I’ve got something brand new for you.

On Monday, November 3 (in 8 days)…
You’re Invited to the Six-Figure Copy Academy
